Aparture- is a hole or an opening through which light travels.
Shutter- is a device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time.
Exposure- is the total amount of light allowed to fall on the photograghic medium (photograghic film or image sensor) during the process of taking a photogragh.
F-stop- an optical system that expresses the diameter of the entrance pupil in terms of the focal length of the lens.
Singal lens reflex- is a camera that typicaly uses a semi-automatic moving mirror system that permits the photogragher to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system (after a very small delay), as opposed to pre-SLR cameras where the veiw through the veiwfinder could be significantly different from what was captured on film.
Negitive- Film for 35 mm cameras comes in long narrow strips of chemical-coated plastic or cellulose acetate.
Positive- is a film or paper record of a scene that represents the color and luminances (as near as the medium will allow).
Contact sheet- is a photograghic image produced from film: sometimes a film negative; sometimes a film postitive.
Agitation- The air bubbles that usually occur when dry film is immersed in a solution can be removed without harmful effects in the predevelopment water rinse.
Enlarger- is a specialized transparency projector used to produce photograghic prints from film or glass negitives using the gelitain-silver process, or transparencies.
Stop bath- is a chemical bath usually used in processing traditional black-and-white photograghic films, plates and paper used after the material has finished developing.
Fixer- is a chemical used in the final step in the photograghic processing of film or paper.
Safe light- is a light source suitable for use in a photograghic darkroom.
Burning- increases the exposure to areas of the print that should be darker.
Dodging- decreases the exposure for areas of the print that the photogragher wishes to be lighter.

Abandoned Theme Parks
I would choose the Okpo Land amusement park because after looking at the photos of it, I was stunned and the first word that came to me after I looked threw it is "mysterious". I bet myself the park is even better if I saw the park with my own eyes. When I take my photos, I would take photos of the coasters from different positions, and scary looking things in the park.
Five other unusual places for photograghers to go to:
1. Stonehenge
2. Cemetaries
3. Old houses
4. Underwater
5. Hollywood
It would be fun to document the Stonehenge location because it is a interesting and mind stunning place. What interests me about stonehenge is that I wonder who and how the stones got there and what they are useing it for. The photos I would take there are photos of the entire stonehenge, the inside parts of the structure and the people standing next to the large stones.
It would take me a plane ticket to get there. My equipment would include a suitcase with cloths in it for staying at a hotel for a couple of days, a labtop and a download device, a ditigal camera with a card to save my photos on, and money. The expences might be with hotel stays, plane ticket, food, and batteries. The laws I might run into at the stonehenge tour could be hours the tour starts and ends, when the tructure is off or on limits and others.

Ethics in fashion photograghy
I saw many changes that evolved manipulation. What they did to her photo is they moved her entire head up to make it look like she has a longer neck, they made her eyes bigger/wider, and they moved her shoulders down. No I do not think it is exceptable because when veiwers look at her then her photo, the veiwers are going to think their looking at someone else. Yes, because the people who get caught manipulating photos of modeling people might get fired. I think changing the hair and makeup might be ok but if you are manipulating the hight, size, things like that, it would not be acceptable. Fashion Photograghy is where you go out and take shots of models, models at shows, their dresses, etc. Photojournalisim is where you take B/W photos, journalize, take shots of different objects, people , places, things, ect and process them or turn them to negetives or positves. The relationship of different photograghy tells you what the photogragher is interested in or trying to do. Some examples of different photograghy-shooting,people, places, role models, newspaper, articals, ect.

Negaitive Evaluation
None of them turned out well because they were all blurry when I looked at them closely. All of them, because I did not have the correct focus on because how you use the focus on the camera I was not sure how to use it because I was having a hard time figureing it out. Right now I'm not sure any of them will turn out well because they are all blurry.

Drug cartels in Mexico Post
The characteristics of my favorite photo that I found is the up close scene of the smashed glass on the front of the vehical. The technical aspects the photogragher used on this scene is the ''leading lines'' one. How he made it interesting is he got close enough were the cracks in the glass are easy to veiw by the veiwer. The reson this is my favorite photo because the cracks on the glass form to groups of the same number of cracks and both groups are pointing to the center of the spot where the victom's head smashed. The scattered blood plays a role as well. It seems to lead the veiwer straight to the incident.

The least unethical photo
Im going to consider this the least unethical photo because the minipulator was only manipulating the character's shadows. The photo on the left has brighter shadows which makes it look normal. And the photo on the right it's character's shadows are darker.
Most Unethical Manipulation
I am going to put this in for most unethical because the research I did on this photo is that the pyramids in the backround were moved closer to eachother by the manipulator to fit on the front cover.
Photo Manipulation and ethics
In this story about ditigal minipulation, security found someone at the newspaper developing place was manipulating photos on adobe photoshop. Later they found it was Brian Walski who was manipulating the photos and was fired on Apirl 1 ,2003. They found 920 photos manipulated. On April 1, 2007, the (NPPA) found 79 manipulated photos and considered it an unprecedented amount of violations.
I consider this type of photo editing to be unethical because it's like a combination of hiding the truth and cheating. The only reason why one would do this because they are hiding the error and pretending to be accurate.

Materials to make B/W print-
Timers
Drying Cabinets
Tongs or spatula
Enlargers
Focusing Aids
Safelights
Chemicals we might be using to make a print and where to buy it-
Stop Bath
Fixers
Place where one could buy these- digitaltruth photo
First you put the print into the developer tray for about 1 minute. After this part you take it out with thongs and let all the excess drain off the print. Then you move it to the stop bath tray with tongs. Let is set in the stop bath tray for 30 seconds. After the 30 seconds remove the print and put in fixer for 1 to 2 minutes. Then remove from fixer and place in wash for 2 to 5 minutes. Finally, take out print and let it dry.

Post Shoot Reflection
I did encounter one problem, it is where you look through the camera to get ready to shoot and the screen shows you a full blury screen with a small clear see through circle in the center. But it was easy for me to make my shoots. How I delt with this problem is I ignored it and took pictures of my subject's faces.
What I was thinking about the most is focus because when I got ready to shoot, I found myself focused only on one part of my subject I would shoot.
I don't think I used any of the advanced compositions because I was mostly focused on shooting.
Learn to use the zoom in and out to get a better view of my subject and put to use an advanced composition I know how to use.

How to get the B/W chemicals ready begining to end-
1. Measure a certain amount of water at a specific temperature-it's usually easier to have the water hotter than the requiered temp. and let it cool down, or even use an ice cube to lower the temp (remove the ice cube when the water reaches the right temp.
2. Measure a certain amount of concentrate (or powder) or use the full amount in the packet.
3. When the temp. of the water is exactly the specified temp, pour in the concentrate (or powder), stirring constantly.
4. When the concentrate is completely disolved, add water to make a certain amount.

The most powerful image in the slideshow is the photo of Ian leaving the airport with a big smile that singals he's happy to be back and see his family. The sequence of photos called ''coming home'' is the most powerful because they show feelings and strength. How the images work together to tell a story is by the action the people are doing in the photo. The way the verbs are written is in a form that tells that date and the time the photo took place then info on whats happening in the photo. The captions tells the veiwer exactly what's happening in the photo.
In Aug. 2009 at 10:30pm, Ian departs an airplane in Houston Tx that now he will journy home.

The who in this photo is all the kids locked up, and squashed in the truck. The what is the kids did not want to go to school today so their principal called these workers to lock them up in his truck and bring them to school the hard way. The where is that they are on the highway on their way to school. The when is in the morning on a monday in the year of 1986. The Why is so the students can get an education. The how is locked up in a truck, squashed, and on top of another so they are stuck in one place, and cannot get away because they are stuck in one spot.
The who in this photo is the old man plugging in all his satilites. The what are the satilites themselfs. The where is in a wide open forest. The when is in the morning. The why is because this guy wants to watch tv everywhere in his house, even the bathroom. The how is because he is getting access by the satilite by hooking up all these dishes.

The overall skills Luis used was between photos he would have a short sentence talking about things in the photos. How he did the audio is that it sounds like the type of calming music that makes you sink into it,"tear sheding" music. The meaning of the slideshow was to show us what the person was living in and going through in his life. The most powerful image is the up close photo of the soldier's face that where he has bruises and cuts all over his face, why it is powerful because it tells people what soldiers go through every day at war by risking their lives to protect are nation. The sequence of photograghs that contains the soldiers at war are the most powerful because it tells us what they are doing and how. How the audio enhanced the photograghs is like that each of the photograghs hold a story. How the images work together to tell a story is by them going in a proper order, like for ex- first it's the soldier photos then the family photos.

Digitally Constructed Single Image-I find this picture inspiring because, the man with wings makes me think he's coming up to grow life starting with the tree he's pulling up. For the content, the photo contains a birdman, with backround firey looking, and for the land, it looks like a desert. For the lighting, there is a ray of light coming from a crack withen the cloudy sky pointing on the upper part of the birdman, with the backround black dark and the sky red. For the composition, the lines on his wings lead to the sky and the lines of the roots go in many directions under the ground.

I feel bordom or depression when I look at this photo of Nadar. I see he is about to fall asleep or he's not in a good mood. I hear him sigh and groan at times like he wants to go back to sleep. I smell his breath when Nadar takes deep sighs out. I taste the dirty air from outside because the window was open.
I see Talbot is at peace, even sheding a smile while he is asleep. I feel he is relaxed and comfertable while asleep. I hear him snore at times and hear him move around at times. I smell the perfume he put on to smell good. I taste the dry air circleing in the room.

Action and Emotion- The reson I choze this one is because the way she makes a look on her face gives out a good emotion. To my POV, I would say she seems very confuzed or she's thinking really hard.
Filling the frame- The reson I choze this one next is because the way the camera caught the liquid dripping the way it's shown in this photo stuns me because it gives it a 3D effect on the droplets. Both the stunning scene and the boy fill up the photo well.
The Story- I think this photo's story is about a group of students preparing for a band play or a show. How I know what makes this photo tell that story is because there are more than 10 students siting in rows of two with musical insruments pointing towards the conducter, who is in front of the students and he has his arm in the air conducting the students on what to do. So this photo does have a clear story.

I choze this one because the veiwer would see the lines on the ground and then get led up to the building by the two corner lines on the building.
Next I chose this one because the waves coming from the ocean will lead the veiwer torards the city.
Last I choze this one because i was just simply amazed after i saw what this photo looked like befor ike came in. He just totaly wiped the road away clean. I would say the ground has a way of leading the veiwer towareds the houses... that are suprizingly still standing after a bad hurricane blue threw.

weather-phenomenon- I chose this one because the rays of the sun mixed with the cirrus clouds makes lines that could lead the veiwer to the dark buildings and the sun itself.
Northern_lights- I chose this one because the light rays come from the sky pointing down and so will lead the veiwer to the trees on the ground.
colosseum_rome- I then choze this one because of the bridge over the walls leads the veiwer towards the far away exit after the bridge crossing.
Yarra_Park- I then chose this photo because there are many shapes in it. But the reson is the long, large road that will lead the veiwer towards the city.
Sun_Rays- Last I chose this one because the rays through the clouds will catch the veiwer's attention and lead him towards the sea.
Tuesday, September 28, 2010
The reson I chose this one is because the storm cloud makes a c curve that leads the looker to the rain. And the road leads him to the light of the sky behind the storm cloud.
Next, I chose this too because the very first thing the looker will get his attention on is the wooden crossway.
I then chose this photo because the rain hitting the table are forming lines, so the veiwer would follow the rain then see the table.
Then I chose this one because the light poles, road, and buildings on both sides will lead the veiwer towards the building in the center of the photo.
Next I chose this one because the wood on the floor and the wood plank both lead to the worker at the desk.

Negative-noting an image in which the brightness values of the subject are reproduced so that the lightest areas are shown as the darkest.
(Google result) Negative-a negative may refer to three different things, although they are all related.
My explination for why the positive and negative are what they are is known as ''color reversed''. For the negative, the black areas are in the sky and the white is on my ground. And for the positive, objects on the ground are black and the sky is white, which is the correct look alikes. So I think the negative's colors are upside down and the positive's are right side up. *Note- It's like someone in the universe took earth, put it in the wash machine, washed it, and with it tumbleing in many derections, the colors got mixed up. Making the colors in the wrong areas back down on earth! But I'm very interested in the negitive/positive therory!

Aperture-An aperture is a hole or an opening through which light travels. More specifically, the aperture of an optical system is the opening that determines the cone angle of a bundle of rays that come to a focus in the image plane.
Shutter-shutter is a device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time, for the purpose of exposing photograghic film or light-sensitive electronic sensor to light to capture a permenant image of a scene. A shutter can also be used to allow pulses of light to pass outwards, as in a movie projector or signal lamp.
Exposure-exposure is the total amount of light allowed to fall on the photograghic medium (photograghic film or image sensor) during the process of taking a photogragh. Exposure is measured in lux seconds, and can be computed from exposure value (EV) and scene luminance over a specifed area.
Depth of field-depth of field (DOF) is the portion of a scene that appears acceptably sharp in the image. Although a lens can precisely focus at only one distance, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on each side of the focused distance, so that within the DOF, the unsharpness is imperceptible under normal viewing conditions.
F-stop-of an optical system expresses the diameter of the entrance pupil in terms of the focal length of the lens ; in simpler terms, the f-number is the focal divided by the ''effective'' aperture diameter. It is a dimensionless number that is a quantitative measure of lens speed, an important concept in photograghy.
Focal lenghth-of an optical system is a measure of how strongly the system coverges (focuses) or or diverges (defocuses) light. For an optical system in air, it is the distance over which initally collimated rays are brought to a focus. A system with with a shorter focal length has greater optical power that one with a long focal length; that is, it bends the rays more strongy brining them to a focus in a shorter distance.
